Organised by Abingdon Artists

Free event (registration required) for Children aged 7 - 14

WORKSHOP REGISTRATIONS HAVE NOW CLOSED

Join Abingdon Artists to explore the arts and creativity theme of this year’s Heritage Open Days. We will tell you a bit about ourselves, show you some of our art from the local area and demonstrate how to create your own concertina sketchbooks using local architecture as inspiration.

Abingdon Artists meet every week to sketch local scenes and share ideas on using a variety of art materials. At the workshop children will be given the opportunity to make their own folding sketchbook, on which to create some of Abingdon’s historic buildings and try out some of our favourite techniques. Children will be allowed to keep their sketchbook and it is hoped they will visit other historic houses that are open during the Heritage Open days in order to complete it.

An exhibition of Abingdon Artists work inspired by the locality will also be on display in the Shed at the bottom of St Ethelwold’s Garden Saturday 16th of September and Sunday 17th September 10am – 3.30pm. Please visit to meet our artists and enjoy their work.

Tea and refreshments will also be served in the gardens to raise money for St Ethelwolds.

Each workshop has 18 child places aged 7 to 14 and these must be booked in advance. A parent or guardian must stay on the premises for the duration of the workshop.

Please book using the link below. You can book up to 3 children in on one form. If you wish to book in more please use a separate form and a separate email address. Please note your information will be shared with Abingdon Events Partnership, Abingdon Artists and St Ethelwold's office.

Please arrive 10 minutes prior to workshop to sign in and bring your email confirmation. The workshop takes around one hour.
