Evolving Abingdon
An Exhibition in Unit 25, Bury Street; September 2025
Evolving Abingdon was an exhibition designed to show the processes, influences and purposes of the various structural changes made to the buildings and layout of Abingdon town centre, from the early Victorian period through to the 1970s.
The changes made in the 60s and 70s are still with us today, usually targets of criticism and regret. The exhibition sought to widen the debate and increase understanding of what these modernist spaces replaced and why they were welcomed when they first came into being.
