FAMILIAR STREETS: We know the parade route; it was described in detail in the booklet produced in advance of the event. The camera was set up at key points along the route and the film was edited with care as the sequence correctly matches the the order of events described in both the booklet and the newspaper reports.

Vineyard
The parade route started somewhere near the Catholic Church and set off down the Vineyard. The camera captures the parade (and the mass of people who had decided to walk alongside it) as they came past a row of houses. This building is still there today and identifiable from the windows and brickwork. At the end of the row the Lipton's Tea advert and others are visible as well as an awning. This was "Vineyard Stores and Post Office" - from Hookes Almanac we know they were at number 65.
